Scholarship with a Civic Mission builds on Duke University's commitment
in Curriculum
2000 to ethical inquiry and undergraduate research. As students
move through the three stages of the Research
Service-Learning model, they develop deeper understandings of
the intellectual issues, ethical concerns, and questions of civic
responsibility related to their research topics. The project provides
funds to students
who wish to pursue projects within this model, faculty
who wish to support such projects or courses within the model, and
community partners who are interested
in participating in such a process.
